Gaudí’s Barcelona – La Sagrada Família, interior

2016

The basilica of La Sagrada Família, whose construction began in 1882, has continued to this day. It was designed by Antonio Gaudí who worked on it for four decades until his tragic death. During the design process, in addition to his innovative approach to shaping the vaults, Gaudí focused on properly directing the sunlight, after letting it pass through the stained glass windows. The result is the fabulously colourful interior lighting as seen in the photos. Photos date back to 2016 and earlier
